How it Works

The Process that Helps you Profit

From the moment we meet our clients, we are excited and intrigued to hear their stories, their wants and their needs.

Our wealth management process is designed to help us identify and structure a solution that works best for you, ensuring that we always consider your personal circumstances while still providing quality advice.

Plan Set Up

01 Initial Interview

The initial interview is like our first date. We will have an introductory call to understand your goals and objectives. We then tell you who we are and how we may be able to help you.

Don’t forget to tell us all about your dreams and what you’re hoping to find in a planner. This call is very important as we want to be sure that we have an understanding on what it is you want to achieve, you want to create or you want to build while we work on your plan.

02 Data Gathering

Here is the not-so-fun but also incredibly necessary part. During this phase, we will collect all of the essential information for the foundation of the plan.

This includes bank, brokerage account, liability and retirement plan statements, legal documents, insurance documents, employee benefit statements, paystubs, tax returns and more. In order to give you what you want, we must first assess what you have.

03 Plan Set Up

Once we have all of your documents, your job is done (for now!) We will enter all of the information that you gave us into your personal secure financial planning website.

The cash flow audit is a crucial part of our process. We will pull your spending transactions from your financial planning website and put them into categories. This gives you a quick look at the things you spend your money on that you might not often think about.

Groceries, car services, water bill, music streaming, for example. This is money that you are more than likely always going to spend so it is important that we create a budget and account for these expenses in the plan before we make any other changes or decisions.

Following the “You Are Here” call, the strategy phase is where YOU can start to get creative and ask questions like “can I retire at 57 and buy that beach home and what does that look like?”

We coordinate with other members of Eagle Strategies which include fellow CFP®s, attorneys and Charter Financial Analysts. Collectively, we strategize the least complicated and most efficient ways to get you where you need and want to be. These concepts end up being the recommendations we put in the financial plan.

04 Audit Phase

The cash flow audit is a crucial part of our process. We will pull your spending transactions from your financial planning website and put them into categories. This gives you a quick look at the things you spend your money on that you might not often think about.

Groceries, car services, water bill, music streaming, for example. This is money that you are more than likely always going to spend so it is important that we create a budget and account for these expenses in the plan before we make any other changes or decisions.

05 Draft Phase

During the draft phase of the plan you will get a good look at your current situation. We like to refer to this as the “You Are Here” call. This means if you were to never meet BWS (we hope that is not the case!), “Here” is where you stand financially. Using the financial planning website we are able to really get creative and give you a visual of all moving parts together which allows you to really hone in on your priorities.

06 Strategy Phase

Following the “You Are Here” call, the strategy phase is where YOU can start to get creative and ask questions like “can I retire at 57 and buy that beach home and what does that look like?”

07

Plan Presentation

The big finale and we do love fireworks! This is where we will present our plan for your success. We will discuss the how’s and why’s of the changes we are making or asking you to make in your life. Some changes are minor and some will take a long time to properly implement.

08

Implementation

Homework time! Don’t worry we won't tell your kids that you have homework, too! Here, we set up your “Action Checklist” with due dates and tell you who is responsible for that part of the plan. This is great if you are like us and love to write things down that you can cross it off when completed.

09

Review & Monitor

This is where the rubber meets the road and you need to start taking action. We will gently nudge you to make sure you are following through with your recommended changes. We hope by this point you are happy with our services. Our follow up is where we really shine!

10

Plan Renewal

Oh my time flies! We know that what you want can change every year. You are human and life doesn’t always go as planned. Dreams change. Tax codes change. Family situations change. For these reasons, we will reach out to you yearly to revisit your financial plan and assess everything we have achieved together and what we need to fine tune for the future.
